Burma-shave signs started before you even got to the parking lot. It's intolerable, this much we know is true, but our bike club has heart, and we're doing our part, at the party we're having for you.
Today was the wonderful Horrible 100. Last year was the first year I rode it and I did the 100 miler. This year though, I didn't feel like going that far, and why do the 75, when with just 25 more miles, you reach 100! (but wait! If you call now...) So I decided to ride the 37 with some other people, including Brianna, a new rider on our team. It was a pretty nice ride, rather cold, or should I say, very cold when we started, complete with a convent headwind most of the way. I rode up the front side of sugarloaf even though it wasn't on the course, and hit 44 mph going down. The rest stop we stopped at had some good chocolates (and nutella). Just for future reference I did multiple tests to make sure that it was good. There were a couple stories I heard about people going out of their way to get to the formerly known as: OZ rest stop to get my mom's brownies and peanut butter balls only to find out that she didn't make any and wasn't even at the rest stop. Can't wait until next year! The mighty warriors after their long, slogging, winding, hilly, cold, terrible...I mean great 100 mile ride
